Aahhh homecomings! Seriously probably one of my favorite parts about being part of Operation Love Reunited! Aside from being the one standing there waiting to welcome home your sailor, it doesn’t get much better than being able to stand there and support one of the fabulous military wives as she waits for her other half.
That’s why I was so excited to be able to photograph for Megan and her hubby Jeremy at the USS Laboon Homecoming!
It is SO HARD to wait!
When you’re on the pier, with the ship already moored (some even able to catch a far away glimpse of their loved one!), it is incredibly hard to contain your frustration over the fact that it seems to take forever for those men to get off the boat! I’m sure military wives can agree with me, we don’t care about procedures or what “needs to be done”, we just want to see the men coming off the boat into our arms!
However, all that patience paid off, and we were finally allowed on the pier, weaving in and out of the throngs of people all on the same mission we were: find their sailor!
When Megan saw Jeremy, she took off running into his arms and gave him the biggest hug!
They really proved that the longer the wait, the sweeter the kiss <3
