For these Virginia Beach pictures, we headed to the oceanfront to do a sunrise engagement session.
Ruben and Sophie traveled from their home to run the Shamrock Marathon put on by J&A Racing (a Virginia Beach staple!).
Since they were already traveling to a gorgeous destination, Ruben decided to pop the question and ask Sophie to be his wife!
Spoiler alert – she said yes!!!
The session started out with even more fun, because Ruben and Sophie’s sweet pupperoni joined us for a few photos.
I love when couples make their fur-friends part of the session.

I’ll be honest – normally I don’t get up for sunrise at the Virginia Beach oceanfront.
(Or anywhere, for that matter)
But when Ruben suggested taking engagement photos when the sun came up, I couldn’t say no.
And let me tell you, even though it was cloudy, that sunrise was spectacular!
