I love that Susan and her family have done a bunch of portrait sessions with me. Not only is it amazing that they trust me enough to take their pictures, but they also trust my judgement if we have to do a last minute change in plans. When we initially showed up to Stumpy Lake for the McFarland family’s session, it was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the parking lot was JAM PACKED. There were people everywhere, and I may have (mildly) panicked… this is not the relaxing type of setting you want for your photo shoot!

Stumpy Lake Family Session

When Susan and Mike pulled up with their boys and puppies, I let them know the situation and then we decided to head down the road a bit to start taking pictures at another area. Let me just tell you: best decision ever!!! Susan really wanted to get some sweet, more romantic photos of her and her hubby Mike, so I made it a point to take lots of pictures of just the two of them. One thing that you may not know about Mike is the fact that he has an awesome sense of humor! Between him, Susan and I, we were the three stooges and kept the laughs going during the entire session!

Susan and Mike, thank you so much for having me do your session again this year! I love you guys and can’t wait until the next time we get to hang out (you know Susan, in that super secret location we talked about 😉 ).
