When we first started talking about a place to do Candice’s bridal session, she immediately knew she wanted a Southern beauty style bridal session.
Candice was dreaming of romantic fields and rustic barns, but there isn’t a whole lot of that locally here in Hampton Roads (such a shame!).
We decided to go with something a little more doable and photograph her session at the Adam T. historic house.
This sounded like an awesome plan, until we pull up and there is a TON of construction going on at the property.
Orange caution signs, barricades around the property, excavation equipment… when I first pulled up my heart definitely sank at the sight.

Southern Beauty Bridal Session
I didn’t want to sound the alarm to Candice and her sweet momma Rose, but I was definitely mildly freaking out.
I did a quick walk around the property, and came to the conclusion that there was NO WAY we were gonna be able to make a session at this location work.
Super sad panda!
Walking back to tell Candice and her mom, I’m racking my brain for another location we could go to.
We needed somewhere that wasn’t too far away and would still have the “feel” she was going for.
That’s when I realized that there was another awesome spot within 5 minutes of where we were… hooray!
I was worried that the ladies would be upset that the plan was changing (especially since they drove from Hampton for the session!).
But Candice and Rose were really awesome and just rolled with everything that was happening.
For that, I am so grateful!!!
We got to the new location and – once Candice was changed into her stunning wedding gown – started wandering around the property to capture these amazing photos for her!
And thus you have this gorgeous gal’s southern beauty bridal session!

The sun was setting as we were doing our photo shoot, and it made for the most perfect, soft, romantic lighting on this southern beauty!

Candice and Rose, thank you SO MUCH for for being the kind, sweet ladies that you are. I had such a wonderful time walking and chatting and laughing with you two as we were all preparing for Candice and Jamie’s big day!
