The Attic at Waterman’s wedding venue is perfect for an intimate ceremony for family and friends.
Which is exactly what Lydia and Stephen had as they tied the knot at the Virginia Beach oceanfront.
There are 7 kids in my family, and Lydia is the “baby” of the family.
She and I have always been very close, and I absolutely LOVED getting to capture her special day!
If we’re being honest, Lydia really wanted to have her wedding on Halloween.
(she’s a lover of all things Halloweeny!)
But it didn’t work out, so they got married the day before.
And honestly, my kids would have revolted if they didn’t get to go trick or treating 😂
So enjoy this beautiful wedding day.
Celebrate with me in toasting Lydia and Stephen.
May they have a long life together that is full of nothing but joy!
The Attic at Waterman’s Wedding
There were so many wonderful moments – how can you possibly pick a favorite!
One of the most emotional moments for me personally was when the bride and groom shared a dance with their parents.
Lydia chose the song “Sunrise, Sunset” from Fiddler on the Roof.
When we were growing up, my mom introduced us to all the old classic musicals (The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story, etc).
But this musical always held a special place, because there were 5 (headstrong) girls in the movie, just like there were 5 girls in our family.
So when this song started playing, I immediately started tearing up… then it turned into full on bawling.
I was so happy for Lydia and Stephen, and I think the day finally just caught up with me… and all that joy just spilled out of my eyes in the form of happy tears.
And then don’t even get me started on how my dad was singing the song as well.
(secretly I think it was so he wouldn’t cry)
Definitely got me right in the feels!
Lydia and Stephen, you have a wonderful life ahead of you and I know that there are so many amazing adventures ahead.
Thank you for allowing us to come and be part of your wedding day, and I can’t wait to see what life has in store for you!
(here in Virginia) 😉
