Buckle up because we have the most romantic fall engagement session to share today!

We headed out to a historic house together and the results are amazing.

Raquel and Matt are such a fun loving, quirky couple, and getting to know them was a blast.

I can’t wait to celebrate together at their wedding at The Maine of Williamsburg this fall.

Romantic Fall Engagement Session

How did you two meet? 

What did you do on your first date: 

The two of us decided to meet up at Sugar and Twine in Carytown for some coffee then grabbed some pizza at Mellow Mushroom. Definitely a fun time! We also went to One Eyed Jacques after dinner and Matt tried to teach me the card game Rummy. I’d love to say that I picked the game up like a natural, but I definitely failed pretty hard at it (face palm).

What are some of your favorite things to do together:

Like a lot of people, Matt and I are big foodies so we love trying new food/cuisine in different places around Virginia.

When did you know your significant other was The One:

Matt: I knew Raquel was the one 6 to 8 months before I proposed.

Raquel: I knew Matt was the one when it was our 2nd year of dating each other.

.

Tell Us Your Proposal Story:

It was around the time of Matt’s birthday and we were traveling to Falls Church, VA. The two of us got all dressed up and went to one of our favorite places called 2941 Restaurant.

I mentioned to the waiter that today was Matt’s birthday hoping that they might do something nice for him towards the end of our meal.

Boy did they ever!

The server brought out what I thought was going to be Matt’s dessert saying “happy birthday” with a candle.

When they revealed the dessert, instead of saying “Happy Birthday!” it said, ” Will You Marry Me?”

In all honesty my brain did register what was going on until Matt got on one knee with the ring.

I started to cry, and the couple behind us started to cry as well.

Such a wonderfully emotional, but happy experience.

All this to say – I’m glad I said, “YES!”
