Flat Lay Like a Pro

Wednesday – February 27th, 10am-12pm

What’s the secret to flat lay images that really pop?

It’s not a DSLR camera.

You can take gorgeous flatlays with your cell phone. I’ll show you how!

Join us Wednesday February 27th from 10am-12noon and learn exactly what goes into taking your own Instagram-worthy photos for your brand.

The first part of the workshop will be a lesson on the foundations of how to style, light, photograph, and edit great flatlays. Then you’ll get an hour of hands-on practice where you can style and photograph your own photos with the help of a trained eye.

There will be a flat lay styling bar which will include flowers, greenery, office essentials, ribbons, geometric shapes, etc. that you’re welcome to utilize. And you’re invited to bring your own accessories, products, and tchotchkes that match your brand aesthetic.

This is a great class no matter if you are using a DSLR Camera or your cell phone – we will show you how to utilize both in order to create amazing images!

Vintage Pinup Workshop at the Military Aviation Museum

Sunday – March 10th, 9am – 12:30pm

For this fun and flirty workshop, we bring together models, make-up, and airplanes to use the classic American pin up imagery of the 1940’s and 50’s as inspiration.

The last time we did a pinup session at the museum, it was a blast! So naturally we wanted to bring a big group back and make more magic!

In this three hour class, students will:

  • Learn the history of pin up
  • Understand what makes an interesting image
  • Be able to browse illustrations & photographs for posing ideas
  • See how to adapt poses from pictures
  • Basic lighting setups
  • Coach models during the session
  • Receive hands on guidance from Judith and Eric Soule

After we’re done, students will be equipped with the knowledge to walk around and photograph models throughout the museum.

We will be able to pose with the World War I and II planes, as well as be able to roam around the grounds.

Models will be dressed and have hair/makeup done in a vintage style.

Although we are focusing on one particular genre of portraiture, the tips and techniques will easily cross over to all categories of portraiture.

This workshop is for all level Photographers. We have Mentors who can help with questions with your camera or studio lighting. Bring your ideas and come shoot photos that will be remembered for years to come.

Please bring a DSLR camera and whatever lens you are comfortable using.

Students are welcome to bring external lighting, but please be mindful of other students/instructors when setting up.
