During October, you really never know what you’ll get in terms of weather (sweltering or freezing!). Luckily, these Norfolk couples photos were done on a day that was pretty close to perfect!

Dona and Rich met me in the Freemason district in Norfolk for our session.

It’s a gorgeous location regardless – but there seemed to be an extra special magic that day.

Not only were they super adorable, but they also brought their pup along for photos!

Side note – we absolutely LOVE when clients bring their four legged friends to their session!

Get to know more about Dona and Rich in today’s blog post.

Norfolk Couples Photos for Dona+Rich

Where are You Two From and How did Y’all Meet?

Dona was raised in Chesapeake, VA and Rich was raised originally in New Jersey and moved to Bluff City, TN as a child.

We met while serving on the Board of Directors for a local recreation league baseball that our sons played in.

What did you do on your first date?

We went to dinner Rich’s favorite restaurant: 456 Fish in Norfolk.

Even after all this time, we still go there often.

It’s a place we tend to celebrate the special occasions in our life: anniversaries, birthdays, even Friday date nights!

What are some of your favorite things to do together?

One of the things I love is that fact that we are both baseball fans and enjoy watching games on TV.

We’ve even traveled several times to go watch the Phillies play in person.

Rich and I both enjoy traveling and sightseeing.

Finding new places to go and interesting finds is something we both enjoy.

But at the same time, sitting outside together and enjoying each other’s company is just as special to us.

When did you know he was the one?

My daughter was in college and I was driving out to visit her.

Rich and I talked on the phone the entire drive.

I realized that day that he was the one for me – we have always enjoyed each other’s company and have great conversation.

He helps me see another view point and is always willing to listen.

If you had to pick a word for your relationship, what would it be?

FUN – for sure!
