HMS PinaforeYesterday at noon, there was a British invasion in the plaza as the cast of the HMS Pinafore took over the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts plaza! Singers and musicians from the Virginia Opera invaded the space in order to promote the upcoming performances of GIlbert and Sullivans’s HMS Pinafore Opera, happening this Saturday and Sunday, at the Sandler Center for the Arts. HMS Pinafore British Invasion Sandler Center for the Performing Arts HMS Pinafore British Invasion

Theatrics and merriment will ensue during this opera as we follow the story of the captain’s daughter falling for a lowly sailor, and then sets out to overturn conventional order to win her man through the power of love – imagine that! H.M.S. Pinafore will be conducted by Virginia Opera Resident Conductor Adam Turner, and will exemplify what we now recognize as modern musical theatre and earns an honored place in the 40th Anniversary Season. Harrison Opera House Fresh Look Photography HMS Pinafore
