Grain Norfolk was the perfect place for Erica and Jake to hang out and create some fun engagement photos. We were able to grab a drink, laugh together, and play a mean game of shuffleboard! Little did I know that Jake takes his shuffleboard game very seriously 😉

Grain Norfolk Engagement Session
How you two meet?
We met at Starbucks January 16, 2017. Jake was grabbing some coffee before work and walked up behind me and asked me if he could buy mine…and of course I said sure! This was followed by an hour and half of talking before he had to be on his way. He never left me alone after that day.

When did you know he was the one?
It wasn’t really a when , it was more like a thank you Lord for sending this man to me and him taking care of me during all of my trying times. He never left my side.

What was the proposal like?
Well, he seemed like he was having aanurism, , but I believe he was just nervous. We had made reservations at the Lighthouse Restaurant in OC, MD. He decided that we should have drinks first, and then sit at this perfect spot by the window. We were having a “conversation” about how he just does not like change…I mean even new bed sheets! So he then said he could prove how he does like change and I challenged him, so he walked over beside me, got down on one knee…I know he then ask me to marry him, but I was crying too hard to really hear anything. I was just saying yes. LOL. It was perfect.

What are some of your favorite things to do together?
We go to church together every Sunday. We LOVE going to wineries. Checking out different types of restaurants. Watching football and hockey. Working out together. Going on getaways. Listening to music and cooking dinner together.

If you had to pick a word for your relationship, what would it be?
Solid

What are three dreams/goals for your marriage?
1. Keep God first in our marriage!
2. To go to Ireland, which we are for our ceremony in January.
3. To never take each other for granted.
