Rashunn wanted to plan the perfect Founders Inn surprise proposal for his girlfriend Amanda.

He is a smart man and knew that he wanted to do it up BIG, exactly like Amanda deserved!

So he called in a dream team of friends and vendors to bring his proposal vision to life.

How did you two meet?

We met on a dating app called Hinge. It’s tagline is that it’s “designed to be deleted” – corny, but it worked for us.

Ray liked my picture first and we started talking… the rest is history.

Or so I thought!

I later learned that a friend of Ray’s actually liked my picture and she and I started talking before he took over!

What did you do on your first date?

Our first date was during COVID so we wanted to do an outdoor activity.

Ray and I settled on walking a trail together – I was dressed casually and he dressed up (something we still chuckle about).

We spent the date talking about life, our family, and past relationships.

It was a special spot, and we went back for our one year anniversary a few months ago!

What are some of your favorite things to do together?

The two of us really love cooking, dancing, and taking walks together.

We are both crazy sports fans so we watch football and basketball every week (loudly).

One of our joint activities is that we coach a girls basketball team together.

When did you know he was the one?

Amanda: For me there were so many times. I knew Ray was the one when he supported me through my grandmother’s passing and came to her funeral with me early in our relationship – even though he hates funerals.

Ray: When I went to her grandmother’s funeral and when I gave her a key to my house. 🙂

If you had to pick a word for your relationship, what would it be?

Amanda: Love, blessing

Ray: Resilient, favored

What are three dreams/goals for your marriage?

To love each other, to forgive each other, to raise a great family.

Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.

Amanda: Becoming Mrs. Cheney (yippee!)

Ray: All of our family coming together and having a good time
