This downtown Norfolk elopement was special in so many ways!
Ariel and Chris decided to get married, and weren’t going to let the covid virus ruin their plans.
After a whirlwind planning session – this elopement was born, and we all met at the Norfolk courthouse downtown.
Since Ariel’s mom wasn’t in town, she brought me on to capture the day.
Little did she know just how magical this day would be.

Downtown Norfolk Elopement
Ariel and Chris have a passion for working out and being healthy together.
They are building a life together, and navigating all that it is throwing at them (including the Navy).
It was so much fun getting to celebrate such a special event with Ariel and Chris and their daughter Mylah.
What made it ever more special, was a big surprise that Ariel saved for the end of the photoshoot.
We started by taking photos of just Ariel and Chris – it was their big day after all!
Towards the end of the session, we brought their family together so we could take a few group photos.
Once Ariel gave me the signal, I made the big announcement and said “on the count of three, everyone say that Kathy (the grooms mom) is going to be a grandma!”
Surprise!
The look of joy and surprise on Kathy’s face was priceless!
I am so thankful that I got to share such a special moment with this sweet little family!
