Running a photography business can get a little lonely when most days it’s just you, your laptop and approximately 47 browser tabs.
The Focus Room is a free monthly networking event created for Hampton Roads photographers who want dedicated time to work and meaningful connection with other people who understand this crazy creative-business life.
This isn’t a networking event where you’re expected to awkwardly work the room. And it’s not a photography class.
It’s simply a welcoming place to show up, get some work done and build genuine relationships with other photographers in our community.

Hi y’all, I’m Judith Soule, owner of Fresh Look Photography, photographer, educator and Chief FUN Officer.
I’ve spent more than 17 years building a photography business here in Hampton Roads, and along the way I’ve learned that some of the best growth doesn’t happen sitting alone behind a computer—it happens when creative people get in the same room and start talking.
The Focus Room was created because I wanted a space where local photographers could work, connect, share ideas and actually get to know one another.
No gatekeeping. No competition. No pretending we’ve all got our shit together.
Just good people, good conversation and hopefully a very productive morning.
