2011 Holiday Mini Sessions
When you envision getting holiday photos done, do you look forward to spending hours in a mall retail store, waiting to be taken into the studio, fighting with kids for the ten minutes they give you to be photographed, waiting to preview your photos, and then waiting in line to check out?
Or do you imagine it being fun? Laughing during the session, interacting and building a relationship with your photographer, spending as much time as needed to get “the shot” and then having a personalized ordering session? Well for the first time, Fresh Look Photography is proud to partner with The Thrifty Baby to bring you special 2011 holiday mini sessions! Don’t waste your time with a chain studio, come out to this newly remodeled children’s store to have your photos taken in a relaxed studio environment with holiday backdrop and props.
Clients have two different days to book appointments: Thursday December 1′st from 10am – 2pm and Saturday December 3′rd from 10am – 1pm.
~ Session includes 15 minutes of studio photography at The Thrifty Baby shop located in Virginia Beach
~ 1 – FREE portrait sheet of 5×7 prints

Christmas Cards!
It’s the most wonderful time… well, it’s almost the most wonderful time of the year (give it a few weeks!). But if you’re like me, you’ve already started planning for the holidays: which house is hosting the big turkey dinner, who is going caroling this year, and deciding if Aunt Edna is going to give you another ugly sweater!
Well add to that list getting holiday photos done (it’s about that time). Fresh Look Photography wants to be your one stop shop when it comes to holiday portraits, including giving you a personalized photo experience, offering gift prints, as well as beautifully framed and matted wall portraits.
For the first time this year, I am pleased to be offering holiday cards as well!
When I first decided that I wanted to offer cards, I got so excited, trying to decide which designs I wanted to offer that it was hard to contain! I wanted to post this entry back in the middle of October. However, I refrained, thinking it was probably best to at least let Halloween pass. My favorite design (and candidate for my own Christmas card) is a multi colored one with twisty canes. It’s very fun and bright, making me smile every time I see it!
There are 10 holiday card templates to choose from. Options include cards with room for one, two, three and more photo options to showcase exactly what makes your family special. If there isn’t an option that tickles your fancy, one can be custom designed (for an additional fee).
After you place your holiday order, it will be sent to the lab and available for pick-up within one week.
One of the great thing about holiday cards, is that you don’t have to do a new session to get the cards. You’re welcome to use an image from a past photography session!
Pricing for the cards will be $30 for 20 cards and envelopes. And additional cards can be purchased in quantities of 10.
Cards are available immediately, but it’s recommended they be ordered by December 10′th in order to be available before Christmas.
Changing of the Seasons
There are some exciting changes happening with Fresh Look Photography!
2011 has been a great year, giving me the opportunity to meet many wonderful new people and bringing in a steady flow of work. I’ve had the opportunity to have a gallery of work hung at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Norfolk Botanical Gardens used some of my bridal photos for their wedding brochures, and I had the pleasure of seeing my work displayed at several local coffee shops and restaurants in the Hampton Roads area.
I’ve been able to further myself as a photographer by taking a bunch of classes this year, upgrading the gear that I use (new lenses, new laptop/editing programs, studio equipment, props, etc), and working with other photographers who push me to be the best that I can.
The core of what I believe when it comes to photography is the idea that a client shouldn’t have to choose a photo they “like” versus one that they LOVE simply due to price. If you get to that point during our time together, let me know, because that means I’ve failed and have some work to do! With every photo shoot, I strive to give the client 110% so that they have an awesome experience and come away with photos they’ll treasure for a lifetime.
As 2011 comes to a close, I’m revamping a few things in order to give you the best photography experience possible, and all changes will take effect December 1, 2011.
One thing that’s happening is I now require a non-refundable deposit to reserve your session date and time. If, for some reason, something comes up and you’re not able to make your session, no problem, we can reschedule. This change has already taken place and will continue to be put into effect.
Portrait Pricing Change:
Family sessions will go from $100 to $150, this will still include a CD of 25-35 edited images (as well as black and white images, selective coloring, etc at photographers discretion), and a 3.5×5 proof of each photo packaged in eco-friendly boutique wrappings.
Mini Shoots can now be scheduled at anytime, they will be priced at $60 and include 10 of the best images, edited and put on a CD for your convenience as well as 1 free portrait sheet. These are perfect for birthday photos!
Themed Mini Shoots, which are held 3-4 times a year, will be $40. These sessions will include 8-10 of the best imaged, edited and put on a CD for your convenience as well as 2 – 5×7 prints.
Wedding Pricing Change:
Platinum Package will now be $1600
Gold Package will now be $1300
Silver Package will now be $1000

Any sessions booked by November 30, 2011 will still be charged current prices.

Operation: Love Reunited
What is OpLove?
Operation: Love ReUnited is a non-profit, fully volunteer organization that offers professional photography sessions to deployed military members and their families absolutely FREE of charge! These patriotic themed sessions are designed to boost moral during deployment.
There are no session fees, nor will you be obligated to purchase anything. This is a FREE gift in honor of your service to our country.
Qualifications to Participate & The Gift of Photography:
To participate in our program you must be an immediate family member of or a member of the military.
Post-Homecoming sessions are not allowed. ALL sessions shall follow a patriotic theme. Pre-Deployment sessions shall include a uniformed service member with the option to change clothes later in the session.
An album of at least 15 images will be sent overseas to the deployed service member for an extra special boost of moral. At no time will a disk of photos be “required” to send to the client.
Clients are allowed 2 sessions per year/deployment. Here are the session options:
a) Pre-deployment session with service person and family (an album is sent directly to the service member overseas by the photographer)
b) Leaving session at the time of the actual departure
c) Mid-deployment session with the family while service person is deployed (an album is sent directly to the service member overseas by the photographer)
d) R&R session done when service person is home for R&R (an album is sent directly to the service member overseas by the photographer)
e) Homecoming session at the actual time of arrival (at the photographer’s discretion, an album or disk will be sent to the family)
Homecoming sessions are not scheduled portrait sessions after the service member returns, they are photo journalistic sessions capturing the moments leading up to and during the service member’s day of return.
After Your Session:
You are welcome to schedule a separate appointment to view images from your session. At that point we can discuss any additional prints or products you may wish to order. Remember, you are under NO obligation to purchase anything additional from your session, however as an OpLove client, you will receive a discount on on all prints and products that I currently offer.
